Fixed Dental Bridges
A dental bridge, or fixed bridge, is designed to replace a single lost tooth, or more than one tooth that are adjacent to each other. It consists of the appropriate number of replacement teeth, which are referred to as pontics, and is supported by dental crowns on either side that are attached to nearby healthy teeth. This fixes the bridge in place, making it unable to be removed without help from your dentist. It also stabilizes your replacement tooth or teeth so that you can bite, chew, and speak confidently.
Partial and Full Dentures
Dentures are recommended for more severe cases of tooth loss, and can be designed either as partial or full appliances. If you still retain some of your healthy, natural teeth, then a partial denture can fit around and support them while replacing the ones you’ve lost. If all of the teeth on your upper or lower dental ridge are gone, then you’ll require a complete, or full, denture to replace them all. Both partial and full dentures are typically crafted from highly lifelike dental porcelain, making them almost indistinguishable from your healthy, natural teeth.
